ERIE, Pa., September 18, 2026 — Community Health Net welcomed regional leaders, healthcare partners, board members and supporters today for its Board of Directors’ 2026 Annual Luncheon at the Sheraton Erie Bayfront Hotel.
Held under the theme Good Health Is Freedom, the luncheon examined the role access to healthcare plays in helping individuals, families and communities thrive.
“As our nation commemorates 250 years of freedom, we are also considering what freedom means for the people we serve today,” said Craig Ulmer, chief executive officer of Community Health Net. “Good health gives people the freedom to care for their families, pursue their goals, participate in their communities and live with greater dignity and independence.”
The luncheon featured Eric Kiehl, APR, Director of Policy and Partnership at the Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers. His presentation, “Shaping the Future of Healthcare: Opportunities and Challenges,” addressed the changing healthcare landscape and the issues affecting community health centers throughout Pennsylvania.
The Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers supports 54 community health centers and more than 475 service locations across the Commonwealth. These organizations provide essential primary and preventive healthcare services to individuals and families in urban, rural and underserved communities.
“Community health centers are a vital part of the healthcare system because they combine accessible care with a deep understanding of the communities they serve,” said Ulmer. “Meeting the challenges ahead will require informed advocacy, strong partnerships and an unwavering commitment to ensuring that every person can receive quality care.”
The program also highlighted the experiences of Community Health Net patients and recognized the board members, employees, sponsors and community partners who support the organization’s mission.
Community Health Net provides medical, dental, vision, pharmacy and behavioral health services to people throughout the Erie region. Its mission is to improve the quality of life in the region by providing professional healthcare services with compassion, respect and dignity to all.
